Veterans’ Reunion The annual Veterans’ Reunion was held on Saturday 17 May 2014. Sixty three Old Collegians plus their partners visited College and shared a day of fine food, good conversation and great fellowship. Many a tale of old was swapped amongst the guests present. The programme for the day included a visit to the museum, a tour around the indoor sports centre, tea on The Oval, a church service, wreath laying outside Clark House and the reunion luncheon in Victoria Hall. Letters to the Editor Letters to the Editor A big thank you to Linda & the team for the wonderful entertainment laid on for us "oldies" last Sat. the 17th May. The programme was exactly right & the food was excellent. It was great to touch base with so many old friends again & talk about the "good old days" - not forgetting where life has taken us. The whole concept of a veteran's lunch is outstanding. Thank you as well to the school for making us proud to be Old Collegians . Fred (1956) & Anne Davel . Just to say thanks very much for all your hard work in putting together such a fantastic lunch for all the oldies. My dad loved it. Once again, many thanks - here's to repeating the whole saga next year! Sheila, Pieter (1938) & Mary Swanepoel Kevin Trodd paid tribute to Bev Wimbush (1948), the original founder of the Veterans’ reunion. Michael “Goen” Hay lit a candle in remembrance of those Old Collegians who have passed away. I write to say a very big thank you for your kind invitation to attend the 2014 Veterans’ Reunion Luncheon as a guest on behalf of my late husband Ron Blackbeard (1946). I really feel very privileged to be able to enjoy these very special functions and get to know the school friends of whom my late husband spoke with such deep affection. His years at College were very special to him. My sincere thanks to all who worked so hard to make the day so special for us all, the delicious morning tea, meaningful service and wreath laying ceremony, the bagpipes, delicious meal, speeches and my only regret was that I was unable to stay to watch the rugby match. Dulcie Blackbeard.
