Learn many millinery techniques with a fresh
approach from talented milliner Brett Morley.
Learn how to prepare, cut and machine sew multi
layers together; manipulate and sculpt Sinamay
Flourish trim. Next you will create feathered flowers:
select and sort, cut, prepare and then assemble.
Working with Guipure lace, you will learn design,
wire manipulation, suitable coverings for the wire,
backing wire to the lace and hand sewing techniques
resulting in a professional quality and individual
masterpiece.
Based in Melbourne, starting
his career as a hair stylist,
the transition into millinery
was natural and fitting. Brett
has showcased at the annual
“Hatstravagance” events,
presented by the Victorian Racing Club at Flemington, he
has been a guest judge at ‘Fashions on the Field’ at various
race meets around Australia and has been a top ten finalist at
the 2013 and 2015 Oaks Day Millinery Award. Brett’s works
feature at the Melbourne Spring Racing Season.
