A SPLASH OF COLOUR AND LIGHT
Intermediate to advanced
Estimated material cost: $120*; basic tool kit $70*
This workshop aims to enhance the impact of your
jewellery designs. With a focus on design you will
learn how to accentuate three-dimensional form by
exploring the impact of colour, light and shadow.
Incorporating materials such as gemstones, pearls,
ebony and shell you will give your jewellery new life.
You will make two cabochon-set rings and a range
of jewellery such as pendants, earrings and rings.
You will learn to set a variety of sizes of gemstones
in silver bezel settings. Building on your existing
soldering skills, you will learn how to do complex
solder joins.
Di completed her Master
of Art in Gold and
Silversmithing at the Royal
Melbourne Institute of
Technology in 2003. She has
taught in the Jewellery and
Object Design Department
at the Design Centre
Enmore, at the College of Fine Art, University of NSW and
currently teaches at SquarePeg Jewellery Studios, Sydney.
