Let’ s get rolling for summer – service, safety and customer care at the Truck Center

As summer approaches and equipment hits the road, Mid-County’ s Truck Center is gearing up to keep our customers moving safely and efficiently. Shop Manager Corey Eischens, who has been with Mid-County for 22 years, leads a team dedicated to dependable service, honest communication, and getting trucks back on the road with minimal downtime.
What we service
The Truck Center handles everything from one-ton pickups to over-the-road semis, heavy haulers, and trailers of all sizes— up to 80 feet long. Every day brings something different, and that’ s exactly how Corey likes it.
“ We see everything,” Corey says.“ No two days are the same, and that’ s what keeps us sharp.”
DOT inspections & safety first
Safety is at the heart of what the Truck Center does. Corey and his team complete several DOT inspections each year, ensuring vehicles are road-ready from front to back. Inspections often uncover issues before they become costly breakdowns, especially as roadside scale technology becomes more sensitive to things like tire pressure.
“ DOT season is especially busy in the spring,” Corey explains.“ Our job is to make sure customers feel confident their equipment is safe.”
Repairs, maintenance & specialized equipment
The most common repairs involve brakes, air systems, and seasonal issues like frozen valves in winter or AC failures in summer. The shop is equipped with:
• Truck alignment machine
• Truck tire balancer( up to 24.5” rims)
• Two new tire machines( up to 42” rims)
• AC service equipment
• Heavy-duty lifting and diagnostic tools While major engine overhauls are referred out, nearly everything else can be handled in-house. Looking for tires or service, Corey shared,“ We
sell and mount tires of all sizes— from car and truck tires to tractor tires and specialty options— right here in our shop.”
Customer service that comes from experience
Corey spent years as an over-the-road driver before becoming a mechanic, and that experience shapes how he runs the shop.
“ When your truck is sitting, you’ re losing money,” he says.“ We work hard to get parts here fast and get customers rolling again.”
Customers appreciate the loyalty, honesty, and communication Corey brings to every job. He prefers talking directly with customers about their concerns rather than working through layers of middlemen— something he says has made a big difference in service quality.
Upgrades & improvements
The Truck Center is currently updating hoists, reorganizing service bays, and moving the truck alignment rack to improve workflow. These changes help the team work more efficiently and reduce turnaround times.
Meet Corey
Corey’ s path to Mid-County is a story in itself. More than two decades ago, he blew a tire on the road, stopped at Mid-County for help, and ended up finding a new career. A friend of his father worked here, one conversation led to another, and by Friday morning he was on the job.
He’ s a graduate of the St. Cloud diesel program and has been working on trucks his entire life. Outside of work, Corey enjoys restoring things, going to car and truck shows, and spending time with his three( soon to be four) grandchildren and family.
A message for summer
Corey’ s advice for customers heading into the busy season is simple: check your equipment before you hit the road. A quick walk-around can prevent major issues and keep everyone safer. And as for the Truck Center’ s goal for the year?“ Keeping customers happy and getting things done in a timely manner,” Corey says.“ Every day is different, and that’ s what keeps us going.”
