The New Royal Adelaide Hospital is a premier project in
South Australia, awarded in 2011 to the SA Health
Partnership consortium, involved the financing, design,
construction and commissioning. This innovative hospital
will harness the latest in architectural design to create a
healing environment for patients and their families, provide
an efficient and positive working environment for staff, all
while minimising the building’s environmental footprint.
Involved since 2010, MBM provided technical services
specifications, public sector comparator and continue to
provide facilities management advisory services
throughout the operational readiness phase.
MBM advised on the commercial arrangements for energy
savings and implementation of co-generation and
renewable energy sources, implementation of a new
workforce model using Patient Support Assistances to
support clinical functions and allow nurses to focus on
delivery of clinical care.
MBM continues to provide support during the transition
phase on operational readiness issues, providing a
contract administration manual for the State and
comments on the operational plans.
