work, home, sofa and TV is simply not for me. My biggest accomplishment is finding a job where I do not work, but where I actually live my job. Recently you finished your Master Thesis “The impact of Media on the Democratization of the Local Government”. Can you tell us about the conclusions you have reached because of your research, who might be interested in your findings? Can your results be applied locally or regionally? If so, how? This is an interesting question. I am proud of my Master Thesis mostly because 1/3 of it is empirical. The central parts of the thesis are questionnaires that were handed to journalists and PR specialists. I have concluded that Slovenian journalism is far away from being professional and I am afraid the situation abroad is similar. Being a journalist is a mission, not a job. Sometimes I feel bad that people blindly believe everything they see or hear in the news when the reality so much different. I do highly recommend my thesis to anyone that works in or with the media and public relations. Do you have any short-range and long-range goals that you want to share with community (maybe somebody will be able to help you :) )? My short range and long range goals walk hand in hand. My friends do make fun of me sometimes saying I will retire at the age of 40. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that I will actually just start living and working at that age. I am always glad to make new positive connections on similar projects and to share experience with different people. I believe there are more and more of such connections in this community. Any job values that you would like to share with us? Commitment, precision and intuition. Without these qualities it’s difficult to align your personal and professional life nowadays. Everything that is between these values just lets all your energy to go to waste. You have studied abroad, how did it influenced on your career path? Would you recommend others to go and study abroad? A foreign country has mostly broadened my horizons and helped me in meeting new people. I am proud to still be in contact and be good friends with many of my study colleagues from Spain, Italy and France. We meet every year and share our life experience. The conversation never manages to stay off the topic of business for too long and we help each other out with sharing knowledge about different foreign markets. I highly recommend studies abroad to everyone regardless of their study programme. NETWORKING Companies are increasingly using social networks as a means of growing their circle of business contacts and promoting themselves online. How is networking important for you and your career? It’s very important. Sometimes people ask me why am I so active in networking. It’s my daily bread! Connecting the content, sharing article links and investing in PR. Sometimes it seems unimportant but the media is alive, it’s everywhere and it can have a big impact if it seizes the moment. What do you think about our project MBA-friends, connecting online and offline MBAs and other business professionals around the World? As a digital media professional, what is the importance of the web site to building the overall brand?
