“If you do not ask what is God’s Truth then you will never get an answer. We have to be humble enough to admit that there might be something that we are missing. Until we are willing to put our pride down no matter what denominational affiliation or dogma that we have, and literally admit that we do not know everything, that we might be missing everything and then even go further to see that what we are missing might go against our fundamental belief system, you will not reach the foundation of God’s Truth.”
He continued, “Until we are willing to have that conversation as human beings to ask that question, we will never be able to ask the harder questions or even want to find the answer. The very first step to discovering truth is to admit that we do not have it all. Everything falls in order autonomously after that first step, so you do not even have to worry about the others, they will come naturally. Once we do this, we will receive affirmation from the God of Israel that this is someone He can work with and reveal things to.”
Passion for Truth will be in Israel at the time this article publishes, and we asked Jim why their ministry is not shying away from visiting Israel or going on Palestinian biased tour routes.
This is the land that was promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to the 12 tribes of Israel scattered abroad. This is the land that the believers in the God of Israel are going to be coming back to. So if this is the land that God commanded our forefathers to go back into, and if this is the land that we will automatically be going back into when the Messiah comes, then why would we want to stay away from it?”
Staley continued, “There is no scriptural precedent that says to not come back to the land. Rather it is quite the opposite. God wants us to cultivate, to tend to it, and to make sure it is in the right condition when He comes back because we will be held accountable as stewards of the land when He returns.”
