“There is only one source of truth and that is God, but HaSatan or the Adversary is the source of all falsehood even it is done by righteous people or in a righteous movement. The enemy’s job is to thwart people from discovering the truth.”
Jim said the main strategy Satan uses to blind people from the truth is pride. He believes this is the number one character flaw of man that prevents mankind from even wanting to look at the truth.
“Pride is why Satan fell from the heavens in the first place. When he discovers a movement, church, or seminary that loves theology, all he has to do is insert pride into the learning environment, and the people will be distracted from the truth by their egos.”
He followed by noting that truth is very difficult to face, and people do not like finding the truth of God because they would rather find something to forward their career, movement or ministry.
“In order to face truth, you have to get through pride.”
When reflecting on his own personal journey that led him into the ministry, Jim indicated that pride was his number one hurdle as well.
“The pride of man is a disgusting thing in the eyes of God, but it is looked upon as a vital asset to succeed in a secular environment.”
Jim’s own journey into the ministry has been the hardest thing of his life. He characterized it as the most bone-crushing, humiliating, punishing career to minister to God’s people in the trenches. While the toll is great and rewards are unseen for years, he compared his job as a servant shepherd to an unpopular person that has to drag someone to get a root canal, and they hate them for it in the moment, but ten years later realize it was the best thing they could have done for themselves.
