Dan returned to Israel in 2013, and became the Director of the Balkan States for the MFA. In 2014, he also became Israel’s Ambassador to Macedonia (non-resident). He continues to represent the Jewish State with many cultural and economic projects, and in areas of public diplomacy. The focus is to establish friendlier relations between Israel and the Balkans and Israel and Macedonia, with special emphasis on economic and cultural ties.
Dan’s children’s book has been published in a several languages including Danish, Serbian, Macedonian, Albania, Spanish, Hebrew, and Arabic. At a recent Jerusalem book fair, Dan brought together Israeli Jewish and Arab children. He read his book to them in Hebrew, and an Israeli Arab woman read it to them in Arabic. Dan is the first Israeli diplomat to have a children’s book published in Arabic.
He has also participated in book readings at events in the Balkans. During his last visit to Macedonia, at a fund raising event, money was received for children with terminal diseases.
In his life journey, Dan now has many experiences to draw from that have developed, in him, the knowledge and creative capacity to fulfill his role as an ambassador serving Israel’s interests abroad.
