Old Business:
Publicity: Lori Taylor
The 2025-2026 Royalty presented on passed events they’ ve attended which included several banquets, Arena Trailer Sales event and Northland horse fair. Upcoming events include the MN Horse Expo and Royalty Fundraiser horse show.
Royalty: Bridget Behrns
Bridget presented the 2026 Royalty committee budget for review and approval. Bridget is looking into electronic entry process and electronic raffles, to help with the increase cost of postage and printing.
Motion was made by Julie Gintner, seconded by Lori Taylor, to approve the 2026 Royalty committee budget as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Bridget presented the 2026 awards for the royalty contest. It was then noted, that not cash awards were not included in the approved budget, and whether it should be included in publicity or royalty committee budget. It was noted by several board members that the Royalty committee draws a lot of interest and promotion of WSCA by offering the Royalty contest. The current board knows the value of the Royalty contest and committee and will keep that value instilled in future boards. It was determined that the cash awards should be added to the Royalty committee budget each year.
A motion was made by Julie Ginter, seconded by Lori Taylor, to correct the previously approved budget to include the cash award. Motion carried unanimously.
The 2026 Royalty Clinic will be April 12 th, in Otsego, MN. Rulebook: Annie Mickelson
Absent. Vice-Chair Kelly Erhart presenting. The committee shared a question they received regarding petition signatures. Will the board allow electronic signatures from club presidents and secretaries? The board members discussed and agreed that that allowing electronic signatures would take out the discretion and true interest of the petition be signed. The board also felt that obtaining signatures in-person is very doable. The board agreed that they will not allow electronic signatures on rule petitions.
Safety Committee: Corey Swartout Absent. Nothing to report.
Scholarship: Julie Gintner
The scholarship application form is online and will be in the March and April spotlight to be seen by May 1 st application deadline.
Stalls: Tim Wamplfer
None.
A Facebook event has been created for stall set up, scheduled for Saturday September 11 set up day. The committee is also looking for trucks and trailers to haul stalls from Simon’ s to Fairgrounds prior to Saturday. It was advised by the board that any repair needing to be done go ahead and be done with discretion on cost, trying to cap repair cost at $ 500. Tim will work with James on putting together a quote for Draft Horse Show’ s interest in renting stalls.
New Business: It was found that we need to update signers on WSCA’ s Minnco Credit Union account.
A Motion was made by Courtney Betsch, seconded by Dustin Heck, to remove all signers, including Julie Gintner and Arlene Bayer, from WSCA’ s Minnco Credit Union account. Motion carried unanimously.
