Old Business: needs to go through the signature process and be voted on by the general delegation. It was reiterated that any petition that gets passed by general delegation does not go into effect until the next printing of the WSCA rulebook, which would be 2028-2030 printing.
Safety Committee: Corey Swartout
Absent. Corey is on board to serve as Safety Committee chair for the upcoming 2026 Champ Show. We thank Corey for his many years of service and commitment to WSCA.
Scholarship: Julie Gintner
The Scholarship committee shared they awarded 4 scholarships in 2025, and the Western Saddle Clubs Foundation awarded 1 as well. The scholarship application form for 2026 is online and will be in the March and April spotlight to be seen by May 1 st application deadline. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2026.
Stalls: Tim Wamplfer
None.
A Facebook event has been created for stall set up, scheduled for Saturday September 11 set up day. The committee is also looking for trucks and trailers to haul stalls from Simon’ s to Fairgrounds prior to Saturday. Many hands make light work.
New Business:
The board began discussing options for a Social Media policy. The policy would be for judges, employees, and board members and WSCA members.
Lynn-Ellen St. Martin offered appreciation on behalf of all WSCA to Arlene Bayer for serving as WSCA’ s Treasurer for many years. With the help of Arlene’ s daughter, Lynn-Ellen shared how Arlene’ s love of horses began, which was extended to her daughter and granddaughters, who all grew up as a part of WSCA. It is with most sincere gratitude that we thank Arlene for her dedication to WSCA.
Motion was made by Marlys Mooney( Buffalo Saddle Club), seconded by Darrin Lee( Sandstone Riders) to adjourn the March 1, 2026, General meeting at 2:36 pm. Motion passed unanimously.
