Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Milca Mendez-Caballos of Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry in Ephrata and her team focused on community outreach and education for NCDHM.
On February 21, Pawsitive visited“ Wiggles and Giggles,” a local daycare, where the team spoke to about 80 children about proper oral hygiene and tooth-healthy snacks, held a story time and sang songs.
On National Tooth Fairy Day( February 28), they traveled south to Holly Tree Pediatric Dentistry & TOT Spot in South Carolina to shadow Dr. Ann Bynum and her team on ways to bring new services to their community. Pawsitive will now also be home to another office called Little Smiles Co., where Dr. Mendez-Caballos will be providing care for babies and infants who are in need of tethered oral tissues being released.
“ Dr. Ann is nationally and internationally known for her experience and expertise in this area so we wanted to learn directly from her,” Dr. Mendez-Caballos said.“ Her team was incredibly supportive and we are so excited to continue to further serve our community!”
Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry
On February 14, Drs. Zachary Kishbaugh and Keyu Zhao and their team at Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry spread the love as they held their annual“ Kids Day” event to celebrate NCDHM.
This year’ s event had an“ Under the Sea” theme where Drs. Kishbaugh and Zhao provided dental care and helped to educate 40 kids on the importance of good oral hygiene. They also held raffles in the waiting room for prizes that included electric toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss picks and more.
“ Kids Day is always such an exciting time for all of us at the office,” Dr. Kishbaugh said.“ We are so fortunate that we get to help erase the negative stigma of dentistry for these kids by having an event like this. It’ s definitely a lot of time and effort that goes into planning but it’ s always so worth it when we get to see so many kids crack a smile, at a place where such an act isn’ t too commonly seen.”
Dr. Zhao added,“ It’ s one of our absolute favorites, among staff and patients alike. The kiddos all had a blast with the exciting activities and cool prizes. Many of them have personally told me that they love coming to the dentist. We are here to help create a positive memory, and it all starts with fun at Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry!”
