University of Pittsburgh
School of Dental Medicine
The Student Chapter of the American Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry at the University Of
Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine had a
superheroes theme for this year’s 17 th annual
Give Kids A Smile Days. Even superheroes need
to brush their teeth! Three of the patients even
came dressed in their Incredibles costumes.
Co-presidents Morgan Choe and Jillian
Hinzman, along with GKAS Day chair Hannah
Bradley, led another excellent two-day event.
The reception area was decorated to resemble
a movie set right off of one of the Marvel comic
movies. Activities entertained the patients
while they waited for their appointments.
The Pitt Panther, Roc, came over in the
afternoon to greet patients and to come in for
his annual check-up. Dental students, pediatric
dental residents, dental hygiene students and
pediatric dental faculty worked together to
provide dental care to over 70 patients.
Westmoreland County Dental Assisting
students joined the department on the second
day of Give Kids A Smile Days when restorations,
extractions and other comprehensive dental
care were provided to children and teens.
