6th Annual Cornhole Shootout a Big Success
Tabor Hall in Dorchester, NE, was the place to be on February 21, 2026, as thirty-eight teams squared off in the hall’ s annual Cornhole Shootout. It was a fun community event that included everyone. Teams consisted of participants at every level, from beginners to league players. As a rule, outside bean bags were not allowed, making the tournament more challenging for seasoned players.
BetterLife member, Ella Vyhnalek( seated on right) and her friend Amber Kotas had fun selling 50 / 50 raffle tickets during the Cornhole Shootout. Purchasing his tickets is BetterLife Member Mike Pracheil.
The evening included a 50 / 50 raffle, with the winner taking home a little over $ 150. This popular annual event went on throughout the day on Saturday. Food and popcorn were enjoyed by both participants and spectators.
Connecting the Past, Present, and Future of Farming in Southeast Nebraska
On January 28, the Wilber Clatonia Future Farmers of America( WCFFA) chapter hosted the annual farm show at the Saline Center lodge hall in Western, NE. For 23 years, this event has served as a bridge between past and present members of the WCFFA. The free event attracted a large crowd, including about 250 BetterLife and community members. A variety of local businesses and vendors set up tables and enthusiastically answered visitors’ questions as they stopped by to learn more about agribusiness.
The event included delicious food, which was provided and served as a free-will donation by the FFA alumni and group. Attendees filled out raffle slips in hopes of having their names drawn during the event. Two lucky raffle winners each won a new DeWalt tool. This successful event demonstrates the public’ s support and helps to connect the community to the past, present, and future of agribusiness in southeastern Nebraska.
