20th Annual Masopust Celebration Continues a Rich Tradition
On Saturday, February 14, BetterLife Members- Protivin, IA, partnered with the Czech Heritage Partnership and the History Document Center to host their spectacular Masopust( Czech Mardi Gras) celebration. The PIVO Brewery in Calmar, IA, was hopping all afternoon with Czech music and lively dancing. This annual Czech Mardi Gras festival is always held on the last Saturday before Ash Wednesday.
BetterLife members and guests from far and wide had a blast participating in the day’ s activities, including a fabulous Czech meal, silent and live auctions, and lots of visiting and camaraderie. This unforgettable celebration showcases the rich culture and sense of belonging that unite the community.
