Saline Center Consignment Sale a Win for Local Community
On Sunday, March 16, BetterLife Members- Western, NE, Saline Center hosted their 41st Annual Consignment Sale. Thousands of items— used equipment, vehicles, hay, small livestock, and more— were sold to support lodge hall operations and other BetterLife-sponsored initiatives in the local community.
" BetterLife has just been great for us," said Beth Horak, who currently serves as the lodge hall manager for the Saline Center and has a seat on BetterLife’ s Member Advisory Board. " Our son and his wife are both members. I ' ve got three grandchildren who are all members. This is helping our community and our hall."
An estimated 150 volunteers plan and execute the event, which also featured a full menu of food items highlighted by the ever-popular kolaches that have become synonymous with the Saline Center ' s Czech heritage.
Events like these, which bring people together, reflect BetterLife ' s values. " It ' s pretty special," said volunteer

Zach Keller. " My parents made me a BetterLife member when I was born. We ' re kind of like a family around here. It ' s just important to be a part of something like this."
Debra Polacek, who has been involved with the Saline Center for most of her life, agreed. " I love this place," said Polacek, taking a moment to wipe tears from her eyes and look around at the crowd of visitors and volunteers assembled in the lodge. " It is just wonderful to see people come together. I really think we still need that in our society today."
An estimated 4,000 people attended the 41st Annual Saline Center Consignment Sale hosted by the BetterLife Lodge in Western, NE. Proceeds from the sale benefit lodge hall operations and other BetterLife-sponsored initiatives in the local community.

BetterLife staff supported the Saline Center Consignment Sale and offered attendees a free one-year trial of BetterLife Connect, a social membership that fosters connection and well-being.
