Made with lean ground turkey and fresh toppings, these wraps offer a low-carb option for adults. For those who want the crunchy taco shell, just add them to your ingredient list. Everyone will find something to love at this meal.
Ingredients:
• 1 lb lean ground turkey
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp chili powder
• 1 / 2 tsp ground cumin
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 / 2 cup diced onion
• 1 / 2 cup diced tomatoes
• Romaine or butter lettuce leaves
•( Optional) Toppings: plain Greek yogurt, avocado slices, shredded cheese
•( Optional for kids): Taco shells
Directions: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add ground turkey, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until the turkey is browned, about 7 – 8 minutes. Stir in diced tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes.
Spoon the mixture into lettuce leaves and add your choice of toppings. For little ones, serve the filling in taco shells for a kidfriendly version of this healthy meal.
