This is part of the story of Wilsonville Community Sharing , the food bank many of you donate to on a regular basis . While in past articles we have mentioned the number of items and dollars collected on the Fourth Wednesday of the Month drives , it is perhaps the below individual stories that give a better sense of how these donations support the assistance programs of WCS . These are just a few of all those receiving assistance . The names given are not the true ones , but the stories are real .

� Mary is a single mother who came for assistance with her utility bills . WCS was able to help her with her NW Natural and electric bills as she works on getting stable again .

� Jane lives on Social Security , alimony and a part-time job . She got behind on her

• Heating & Cooling

• Crawl Space Drainage & Insulation

• Attic Insulation & Ventilation

• Mold Remediation utility bills after a bout of illness and needed help . WCS assisted her with her PGE and NW Natural bills so that she could use her funds for rent .

� The Wilsonville Food Bank is helping a family of seven that recently moved to the community — a working mom , a disabled husband and five kids . WCS was able to provide all the staples to fill the pantry .

� Joe is a homeless man who just had heart surgery . Because he is homeless , he visits the Food Bank , which provides him with the foods he needs , weekly .

� A young family with two small babies also receives food from the Wilsonville Food Bank . It has further assisted with diapers , wipes and food .

March donations from Charbonneau residents amounted to 237 pounds and $ 310 in cash and gift cards . The results of the April drive are not yet tabulated .

For the Wednesday May 24 drop-off , the items most in need are deodorant , shampoo , and canned fruits . As always , however , any contribution , in-kind , or funds , are greatly appreciated . And “ one can or item ” from each and every one of us in Charbonneau makes a big difference .
