There is a likelihood that many residents may not have the familiarity with financial statements , especially the balance sheet , and so some will find more concern and alarm in this article than the intended level of comfort and understanding in reading about line items that are in the millions , especially debt . So , I have been asked to schedule an informational meeting with residents in October to explain and simplify financial statements in layman ’ s ’ terms so that we all can find more comfort from a common understanding of the financial statements of our HOA . Come listen , learn and ask questions . The specific date and time will be announced soon .

Beginning implementation of our strategic plan
As regular readers of this column know , we recently developed a communications strategic plan with strategies , objectives and action plans to support the Board ’ s 2023 goal to “ advance the
WALKER effectiveness of CCC ’ s communications channels .”
It includes all aspects of how CCC communicates to and interacts with our residents , and how our residents interact with and communicate to the management and leadership of the Association .
The strategic plan was developed in large measure to respond to the findings from the community-wide communications survey conducted in late 2022 . The Communications Committee has already begun to implement some of the action plans prioritized as being most important and doable in 2023 . Those plans include :
� Producing stories that spotlight
Charbonneau residents who have done or are doing something , unique , such as writing a book , engaging in unique and unusual hobbies , or something else interesting or unusual .
� Publishing profiles on residents ’ lives , life experiences , unusual careers , etc .
� Providing expanded coverage of younger residents and their families , and working seniors .
� Featuring periodic activities underway in individual HOAs .
� Publishing periodic “ village spotlights ” highlighting businesses in the Charbonneau community .
� Implementing an “ Ask the Board ” section in the Villager .
� Creating a “ Resident Voices ” section in the Villager .
� Ensuring that the CCC website is kept up-to-date with fresh content weekly .
� Establishing an alert system for residents to opt into in order to receive email and / or text alerts in the event of specific dangerous events .
� Conducting a comprehensive audit of the CCC website to identify and implement improvements that will ensure continuous accuracy and timeliness of content .
� Utilizing the HOA “ Presidents Pathway ” to share communication on important topics , and create a pathway for further sharing of information to individual HOA members . � Supporting the efforts of the new
Country Club Estates Neighborhood
Committee .
� Working with the CCC Hospitality Committee to develop a new resident “ onboarding program .”
� Developing a “ Welcome New Neighbors ” feature in the Villager , with brief biographical information about our new residents .
To achieve these plans we will need assistance from Charbonneau residents willing to share their stories , and residents willing to write stories for the Villager . If you ’ re

Walk to Remember to Help End Alzheimer ’ s
Sunday , May 21 , SpringRidge and Charbonneau Country Club will be sponsoring the 10th Annual Alzheimer ’ s Walk to Remember .
The registration fee for the walk is $ 5 . Registration forms can be picked up at either Charbonneau Country Club or SpringRidge Court and must be turned in no later than May 15 .
All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer ’ s Association of Oregon .
