Meeting Minutes
Reminder to reach out to people that might be interested in becoming a Board Member .
Procedures : Sandy Strube Nothing to report .
Publicity : Lori Taylor : The Royalty Court attended the North Metro banquet and the MN Valley Riders Banquet . Last week they attended the Skijoring at Canterbury Park and the Arena Trailer Sales event . For the Royalty Show on June 17 th , Jerry Magin is secured as the Judge . $ 2,000 has been raised to cover the awards and Judge .
The Royalty Court was asked by Julia Northwick about the best thing about being on the Court . Kalli really enjoyed going to the 4-H Roundup up and inspiring the girls ages between 12-14 . Also , while Kalli was at a parade , someone was shouting her horse ’ s name . Sarah enjoys working on the WSCA Royalty Show and talking about WSCA to other people . Jordan has enjoyed going to all of the saddle club banquets and meeting new people . Abby has also enjoyed working with Sarah to put on the Royalty Show and getting noticed as Ms . Games at the vet clinic she works at .
Royalty : Bridget Behrns Gearing up for the Royalty Clinic to be held in Watertown on Sunday March 26 th from 1:00-4:30 . The RSVP form is available on the website . We will also circulate the flyer on Facebook . If you have a Saddle Club Queen or know of someone who has an interest in the WSCA Royalty Contest they should plan to attend the clinic . Requesting approval for the standard awards for the new Court : Queen - $ 1,500 , Princess - $ 1,000 , Ms . Congeniality , Ms . Games , and Ms . Horsemanship each to be awarded $ 650 . The Boad discussed and question why this is not included in the Royalty Budget , they will review later .

Safety Committee : Corey Swartout Absent . Nothing to report .
Scholarship : Julie Gintner The Scholarship application is on-line and will be coming out in the March Spotlight . The applications are due by May 1 st , 2023 . If you are furthering your education or a new graduate , we encourage you to apply . If you have applied before and not won an award , you may apply again .
Old Business :
As a reminder to everyone , WSCA chose to purchase stalls rather than renting them and it ’ s costing us approximately $ 50,000 per year . This year is the first year we will be renting the stalls to 4H and the income will be between $ 17,000- $ 21,000 . By owning the stalls , this will help offset our costs for not renting stalls for a cost of $ 35,000 . This will be a safeguard of income once they are paid for . We are looking into liability insurance for renting the stalls .
For the adaptive classes , we have the program guidelines put together , information of eligibility , equipment , horse leaders , riding assistance , penalties , assisted and un-assisted riding , and facility requirements . We have an exhibitor profile and athletic medical form . Physician will sign off for medical approval . We will have a volunteer application and waiver put together . Working on searching for sponsorship for the 6 game classes : barrels , poles , key ( assisted and un-assisted ).
New Business :
Looking into document storage options . We could work through Herald Journal and go through the back side of the website . Also , could use Google Drive with an administrator . Looking to safeguard our information through digital storage .
We are always looking for volunteers to come help at Champ Show . We also encourage members to help get class sponsorships for Champ Show .
The last of our WSCA Raffle tickets are available for sale . The drawing will be on May 6 th at Arena Trailer Sales .

Motion made by Cindy Ladd ( Over Easy Riders ), seconded by Matt Gilbertson ( Northwest Saddle Club ) to adjourn the meeting at 3:12 PM . Motion carried unanimously .
