Meeting Minutes
Nominating : Kevin Berger Nothing to report .
Procedures : Sandy Strube Nothing to report .
Publicity : Lori Taylor : Lori presented the Publicity Budget . Motion made by Julie Gintner , seconded by Julia Northwick , to approve the Publicity Budget . Motion carried unanimously .
The Royalty Court attended the North Metro banquet and the MN Valley Riders Banquet . Last week they attended the Skijoring at Canterbury Park and the Arena Trailer Sales event . For the Royalty Show on June 17 th , Jerry Magin is secured as the Judge . $ 2,000 has been raised to cover the awards and Judge .
The Royalty Court was asked by Julia Northwick about the best thing about being on the Court . Kalli really enjoyed going to the 4-H Roundup up and inspiring the girls ages between 12-14 . Sarah enjoys working on the WSCA Royalty Show and talking about WSCA to other people . Jordan has enjoyed going to all of the saddle club banquets and meeting new people . Abby has also enjoyed working with Sarah to put on the Royalty Show and getting noticed as Ms . Games at the vet clinic she works at .
Royalty : Bridget Behrns Absent . Budget for the Royalty Committee was presented . Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Lori Taylor , to approve the Royalty Budget . Motion carried unanimously .
Gearing up for the Royalty Clinic to be held in Watertown on Sunday March 26 th from 1:00-4:30 . The RSVP form is available on the website . We will also circulate the flyer on Facebook . If you have a Saddle Club Queen or know of someone who has an interest in the WSCA Royalty Contest they should plan to attend the clinic . Requesting approval for the standard awards for the new Court : Queen - $ 1,500 , Princess - $ 1,000 , Ms . Congeniality , Ms .
Games , and Ms . Horsemanship each to be awarded $ 650 . The Boad discussed and question why this is not included in the Royalty Budget , they will review later .
Rulebook : Cindy Ladd There is a petition that is working on getting the necessary signatures for mules to be allowed at WSCA shows .
Safety Committee : Corey Swartout Absent . Nothing to report .
Scholarship : Julie Gintner Budget for the Scholarship Committee was presented . Motion made by Kevin Berger , seconded by Ann Goebel , to approve the Scholarship Budget . Motion carried unanimously .
Jan Deile as Vice-Chair Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Julia Northwick , to approve Jan Deile as the Vice-Chair of the Scholarship Committee . Motion carried unanimously .
The Scholarship application is on-line and will be coming out in the March Spotlight . The applications are due by May 1 st , 2023 .
Old Business :
For the adaptive classes , an exhibitor will not be able to cross enter another class at Champ Show . Reached out to a potential sponsor for a $ 3,000 sponsorship , and they are reviewing their commitments . Next steps will be reaching out to a lawyer to review our materials . There will be 6 classes : assisted and un-assisted Barrels , Poles , and Key .
Looking into document storage options . We could work through Herald Journal and go through the back side of the website . Also , could use Google Drive with an administrator .
75 % of the 300 WSCA Cash Raffle tickets are sold . The Board has stepped up and done a great job . The drawing will be on May 6 th at Arena Trailer Sales .

We need more sponsors so that we don ’ t rely so much on Champ Show . We need to think of different ways to raise money towards sponsorship of WSCA Champ Show .

A Special Meeting was called to order by President Lynn-Ellen St . Martin at 1:31 PM
Sandy reviewed the procedures in Royalty , and it states the Royalty Chairperson will ask for approval for awards for the Queen in the amount $ 1,000 , and $ 500 each awarded to Princess , Ms . Congeniality , Ms . Games , and Ms . Horsemanship . It is recommended to update the Royalty Procedure to update the awards to Queen - $ 1,500 , Princess - $ 1,000 , Ms . Congeniality , Ms . Games , and Ms . Horsemanship each to be awarded $ 650 Motion made by Lori Taylor , seconded by Julia Northwick to approve recommendation to update the Royalty procedure . Motion carried unanimously .
Motion made by Julie Gintner , seconded by Amber Duncanson to approve awards as presented by Bridget . Motion carried unanimously .
