R R A W T N SILE WHAT STARTED AS A GOLF CART BUILD-OFF COMPETITION... ENDS UP SUPPORTING OUR VETS By:Chris Bourgeois I n early February my partner Bryan Frye and I were invit- ed to compete in a Golf Cart Build-Off. This competition would be a yearlong competition, starting January 1st, 2019 until December 31st, 2019. There would be two classes, MOD- IFIED, and SUPER MODIFIED. The rules stated that you MUST start with a Golf Cart Frame and the motor had to be in the original location. The two classes would be separat- ed by a dollar value based upon construction cost. Modified would be $0- $7000.00 and Super Modi- fied would be $7001.00 above. Well knowing the skills and class of the builders we would be competing against we would need to bring our “A-GAME” and be prepared to include a few specialized cus- tom tricks that we already have employed on other builds as well as a need to be very creative with new ideas and specialty designs to compete in this competition. Never being involved with such an activity of asking for sponsorship I was very apprehensive about taking on such a task. After thinking about this a cou- ple of days I decided I could not ask sponsors to build a cart that I would end up owning after the competition ended December 31st, 2019. It was suggested to me to build the cart and then donate it to a charity organization. Well, that just made things easier for me as I am a very strong sup- porter of all military veterans. The decision was made to contact Quadvets.org as the group I would donate the cart too. I sat down and created what I call a form letter stating Bryan Frye
