Pots and Mediums
My experience entails the use of fabric pots and coco for medium , which is made from the husks of coconuts . Coco is a far more neutral medium than soil which allows you to better tune your nutrients . If you are using soil , you will have to adjust nutrients accordingly . For potting-up your clippings , you will want to resist the urge to plant them in their large final container . A smaller pot will allow for greater airflow causing more oxygen to reach the roots resulting in faster and fuller growth of the root system . Using 15- to 20-centimetre fabric pots , you will be able to cram a lot of them into a small space . It ’ s just fine for them to be touching once racked up .
“ In getting started , make sure you harvest and pot-up more clippings than you plan on ending up with .”
Ideal Temperatures
When it comes to your growroom temperature , your clones have a little more flexibility at the lower end of the thermometer if you happen to be in a cold climate . They can thrive in temperatures as low as 15 to 18 ° C , although an optimum temperature range is between 24 and 29 ° C . If you have the room to physically separate clones from the veg-stage plants , you can tune the temperature down a little bit . If you don ’ t , it ’ s not a big deal . The majority of grows I have worked in didn ’ t have separate clone and veg rooms so the temperatures were set at 24 ° C . Maintaining these temperatures in the cold was a challenge which required constant adjustment .
