As Rudy makes his daunting trip around the country you can follow along through his site as well as his twitter feed and the same with all the hunters that will be filmed. I hate calling it a DVD because it’s more of a social media hunting showcase where everyone can be a part of it and follow along. The DVD is just the end result or the finished product, but the real meaning of it all is the journey that anyone can take part in. I only met Rudy recently when I started The Will to Hunt and the associated social media outlets. I honestly think Rudy is on to something big with Huntography. It’s getting back to the root of hunting while sharing it with the world using some of the latest technology. People tend to blame pop culture and recent technology for some of the reason people get away from tradition and hunting but Huntography is putting them together.
If spending a month or so on the road and filming most every minute of it isn’t hard enough, to produce great images Rudy will be filming it all using not a video camera but a HD DSLR Camera. A lot of people are using DSLR for HD videos these days but it isn’t usually their only form because there is not auto focus and it just isn’t easy to do. However, doing it this way produces some great and unique film that is sure to set the bar for reality video quality.
Huntography kicked off on October 15th at 4AM when Rudy made his way from Colorado to his first stop hunting with the Thryselius family in Wisconsin.
