Issue Number 29 | March 2026
For a nice way to end this article we asked some of the staff to tell us some memories or even if they had anything to say this is what they said, for a final goodbye.

" Mr., Docherty has been an excellent head teacher, he has been supportive of everyone in the school and he has made the school a much better place."
Mr. Morton
" When I was twelve, he was my year head in secondary school. This was a bit unusual at first, but he made me feel so welcome as a teacher and he was very approachable.”
Miss Hogg
A few years ago, he broke his leg during the holidays and had to walk around with crutches. He did a great job to run the school like that and managed to get around."
Miss Lambie
" He ' s been great to work with. He is approachable, friendly and supportive. I think he has always had a good idea of how he wanted this school to be. He also brings really yummy cakes to meetings. It ' s been great to work with him; he ' s done a great job of steering Marr onwards and upwards! "
Mr. McLean
" He was a tech teacher at Prestwick and he dressed up as Santa and had to drive the football team around in a Coca-Cola van. He also dressed up as Santa at Marr for Christmas lunch and we were all elves! He is really nice and will be missed."
We are very thankful for how much Mr. Docherty has supported the PE department and encouraged sports so much throughout the school. We wish you all the best!”
" He always runs away from me because I always ask him for stuff for the students!"
Miss McCartan
“ Mr. Docherty had such a positive impact on the school – he was approachable, kind, encouraging, listened to ideas and really championed the students and staff of Marr. We wish him all the best in his new role!”
