Time to talk day( Thursday 5th February)
Time to Talk Day is the nation’ s biggest mental health conversation and is a day that friends, families, communities, and workplaces come together to talk about mental health and to challenge mental health stigma. This year’ s theme in Scotland is“ making places stigma free for everyone.” We’ re asking communities, schools, workplaces, and healthcare providers and leaders to recognise the different ways that mental health stigma is experienced by people – and to make change happen. The See Me website has free resources you can use to mark this day.
Eating disorders awareness week( 23rd February- 1st March)
The theme for this year’ s EDAW is community- celebrating the power of community in recovery and the vital role family, friends, and other support networks play in helping someone feel supported, understood, and never alone on their journey from seeking help, undergoing treatment and beyond. If you work or volunteer with young people in schools or community groups in South Ayrshire and would like training on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people experiencing an eating problem, please book our Understanding and responding to eating problems in young people workshop. Self-injury awareness day( 1st March)
SIAD seeks to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote help-seeking around self-harm. The theme is Connection Is Coping: Finding Support Together.

Our Understanding and responding to self-harm in young people workshop session includes information and advice for staff and volunteers working with children and young people. Please get in touch if you would like more information or would like to book a workshop.
International day of happiness( 20th March)
This year’ s theme explores the relationship between social media and happiness, highlighting the potential challenges for wellbeing as well as ways we can use tech for good. Let’ s Connect have a workshop for S1- S3 which helps young people consider how to manage social media in a mentally healthy way.
