La Fiesta Du Foot
S3 Spanish and French students enjoyed an exciting day of success after winning several awards at La Fiesta du Foot, a football and languages competition organised by South Ayrshire Council. The event brought together pupils from 6 different schools to celebrate teamwork, sporting skills and a passion for modern languages. Each class has to create a football drill video in French or Spanish, design their dream football team and a football team logo.
Our S3 pupils impressed judges with their enthusiasm, confidence and language skills, earning multiple awards across different categories: best use of language( Spanish), best dream team( French), 1st overall winner( French), 3rd, 2nd and 1st overall winners( Spanish) but also won the pupils choice in both languages.
The competition proved to be a memorable experience and a real motivation for students to continue developing their language skills. We also had to chance to meet head judge Sean McDonald, owner of the Blethered Podcast who shared with us his passion for languages and football.

French Pen Pal Letters
After the Easter holiday, 60 S1 and 90 S2 were very excited to see the videos Mrs Gilmore had taken of their pen pals after visiting their school in GUEMENE-PENFAO, in the South of Brittany. We were very surprised to hear that our pen pals start their school day at 8am and finish at 5pm, they must be so tired at the end of the day! We have now written our last letters to them
