Student Digital Champions
Prior to school closures our group of Student Digital Champions held staff
‘digital drop ins’ covering PowerPoint Screen Recorder, the Microsoft
Education Centre and Microsoft Teams. Well done to all students involved. If
anyone has any digital top tips they would like to share please contact Miss
Wyllie or Mr Simpson.
The MEC Microsoft Teams
The Microsoft Education Centre
(MEC) is a fantastic source of free
professional learning for staff – with
a variety of different courses on
topics such as Teams, OneNote,
Sway, Forms, Immersive Reader,
Dyslexia, Leadership and much
more. Staff can earn points,
badges,
and
certificates
for
completing online courses and
passing the end of unit quiz. If any
members of staff would like to
complete any of the courses please
click on the Microsoft logo below
and sign in with your Glow details.
Staff can work towards their
Certified
Microsoft
Innovative
ducator (MIE) Award and their MIE
Expert Award. The group also delivered a well-
attended workshop covering the
many uses of Microsoft Teams e.g.
posting comments, sharing files,
giving praise, live meetings, and
screen sharing. They have since
started a Digital Drop in Team so
that staff in the school can ask
questions remotely and share good
practice. We have to say a massive
well done to Lucy Watson in S5 who
produced a short video about her
use of Teams this year and why she
wanted to promote it across the
school.
