The Donald
Dewar Debate
Kathryn Muir and
Gregor
Blair
represented
Marr
College in the first
round of The Donald
Dewar Debate, which
is run by The Law
Society of Scotland.
The event took place
at Wellington School
where
4
teams
debated the motion:
‘This house would
introduce compulsory
National Civic Service
for all 15 and 16 year
olds’.
Kathryn and Gregor
were
giving
the
opposing arguments
and were debating
against a team from
Auchenharvie.
Well done to the
team and we look
forward to hearing
how they get on in
future debates.
“It was really
interesting to see the
structure of debating
and we look forward
to competing again
this year.” Kathryn
Muir, S5
Rotary Club
Young Musician
Competition
We were delighted to
host the Rotary Club
Young
Musician
competition in which
10 pupils from Marr
College and 1 pupil
from
Wellington
School took part. All
pupils
played
magnificently, really
showcasing
their
talent and abilities –
showing what a credit
they are to the
school.
S1 & S2 Community Clean Up
Our Community Clean Up scheme continues in Marr
College with house groups leading the way in
cleaning up the school grounds and local community
– hoping to help the environment as well as improving
the community. The names of those taking part will be
entered into a local draw for this term. Well done to
everyone involved.
