Pupils explored the forces at work when it comes to flight and space travel and how these forces differ on earth and in space . Pupils explored the challenges surrounding space junk and the threat it poses to future space exploration and then used an imagine , design , build and test process to solve the space junk problem . By applying their skills and knowledge to create these solutions , young people gained an insight into the varied and exciting career choices and encouraged them to pursue STEM subjects at school and beyond .
This workshop was accredited through Industrial Cadets at Challenger level . All pupils achieved this award and were presented with certificates .
Halloween Disco
Written by Ellie Anderson , S1
The S1s and S6s had an amazing time at the Halloween disco . They all had fun with some games of musical bumps , musical statues , pass the parcel and best dressed .
The home economics department made some free Halloween treats and pupils received a Freddo and a drink each .
There was also a pumpkin competition taking place where the S1s had come up with designs in their registration classes and the winning pumpkins were announced at the disco !
