UNBELIEVABLE . THERE is not a more appropriate word for the business and athletic accomplishments of Jack Daly . It is truly hard to comprehend that any one man can do so much , but it ’ s all real .
Jack is a man of uncommon drive , focus , and energy . He has run almost a hundred marathons , completed fifteen full Ironman competitions , golfed ninety-three of the top US golf courses , bungee jumped from the world ’ s highest jump , dived with great white sharks , and more . An example of Jack ’ s exceptional determination and commitment can be found in the story of how he began his Ironman competitions .
Jack was 57 , and while having participated in many marathons , he had never entered an Ironman competition . He decided it was time . This , of itself , was quite a commitment , but what was absolutely astonishing was that he didn ’ t even know how to swim ! An Ironman consists of three components : a 26.2-mile run , a 112-mile bike , and a 2.4-mile swim ! This did not deter Jack . He hired a coach and proceeded to learn how to swim . Once again , unbelievable !
What is also astonishing is that Jack accomplished all of these athletic feats while attaining the reputation of being the best professional sales trainer in America , traveling an average of more than 200,000 miles and delivering more than 100 presentations each year . In the last five years , he has provided over 650 training sessions to over 100,000 CEOs , entrepreneurs , sales professionals , and business owners .
Jack likens completing an Ironman competition to achieving business success . He believes the requirements for both are the following :
Vision – visualize your goals as you work towards them Playbook – set specific steps / activities that need to be completed Measurement – track and measure what gets done
Coach – model your actions after someone who has already succeeded
Practice – practice and train extensively
Fitness and Nutrition – take care of yourself as you have a competitive advantage in any situation if you are healthy
Positive Mind-Set – keep a positive mind-set as 50 percent or more of success can be attributed to attitude
Jack has a record of more than 30 years in sales , executive , and entrepreneurial positions . He is a passionate speaker when sharing his knowledge with others . He is also a customized speaker as he provides clients with a program developed especially for their situation and audience . His workshops encompass the topics of sales , sales management , corporate culture , customer loyalty , and even personal motivation . Is there anything this man hasn ’ t done ? Apparently so , as he still has almost three hundred items on his bucket list !
One of the items on Jack ’ s bucket list has been crossed off fairly recently . He has always wanted to have his picture on the cover of a magazine , but he had no idea how he was going to accomplish this until he met Andy Buyting . Jack first met Andy at an educational gathering of entrepreneurs at MIT . This annual conference , called Gathering of Titans , attracts businesspersons from around the world . At that time , Jack did not immediately jump into the world of magazine publication , but it was destined to be .
Jack had been asked many times to write a book , but he worried it might be too time consuming and wouldn ’ t be of great benefit . Eventually he was persuaded and has now published three books . When he met Andy , Andy asked if he would consider being a regular contributor to Carle Publishing . As Jack had easy-to-adapt articles in the form of his books , he agreed .
Two years ago , at a trade show where Andy had a display of many of his magazines , Jack was leafing through them and saw his articles in several . That is when he queried whether he should have his own magazine . Within a very short time , Andy had a mock-up , including the title Get Jack ’ d . Jack was suitably impressed . The magazines now do for him what the books have done but in a far more efficient manner .
Jack always carries many copies of his most recent magazine wherever he goes . He hands them out and leaves them literally everywhere — his dentist ’ s and doctor ’ s offices , airport lounges , airplane seats , the blood donor clinic . As a result , he receives emails and phone calls saying , “ I picked up your magazine at __ and I want to know more about __.” Businesses thrive and grow through contacts , and this is what Carle Publishing helps provide — contacts , contacts , contacts . Jack feels his magazines have a far greater reach than his books .
While creating the magazine does require some work on his part , the small amount of time invested is far outweighed by the benefits provided .
