Along with being a developer every manger should serve as a mentor to every one below them or aside them. You should mentor your team initially to provide them your expectation of them and their work. Mentoring can prove to be a key in identify strong in weak points in individuals, yourself, and the company. It is astonishing what can be found and accomplished through even the smallest amount of mentorship.

3. Listen

Manager at time tend to get caught up in directing and giving orders resulting in them forgetting or avoiding listening to their team. Listening to what others have to say can prove to be valuable in many aspects. By listening to individuals you will provide them the opportunity to share their perspective, problems, solutions, or ideas. We all have to ears for a reason.
