Sean dropped into the seat next to her . “ The raven flies at midnight ,” he muttered out of the side of his mouth , as if they were spies meeting in an old movie . The woman jerked up and twisted to stare at him . It wasn ’ t Holly . Sean ’ s face flamed . “ Oh ! Um . Sorry , I thought you were someone else . Wow , you really look like her . Except you ’ re a lot older .” He winced . “ Not that you ’ re old .” Women could be sensitive about that kind of thing . “ Only , I think she ’ s twenty-three , and you ’ re clearly …”
He trailed off . What would be least offensive ? She was probably around forty , a good decade younger than he was , but if he guessed at that and overshot — or even if he was correct — she might still be hurt . For some reason , most women hated to look their age .
“ Over thirty ?” he suggested .
