WORLD BUILDING : CONCLUSION PART 3 By : Barbara Donlon Bradley
I always ask the question what would I do if I were in her shoes ? It makes me think about how I would handle it .
Does she have options here ? Friends ? Family ? Social media ? Personally , I ’ d get in touch with his mother . Out of anyone , she would know where he is .
Marybeth hadn ’ t seen him in two days and had no idea where he was , so she decided to start with his mom . She pulled up in front of Brian ’ s family home . His mom was out in her yard working on her garden .
Brian ’ s mom turned and faced her car when she heard the car door close . “ Marybeth ? Is everything okay ?” “ Um , I ’ m only looking for Brian .” She tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear . “ Oh , sorry dear , he left this morning .” “ Okay , thank you .” Her shoulders dropped when she realized she was too late . She turned to walk back to her car . “ I meant he went to work ,” she added . “ He has a new job .” “ I understand .” He had left again . Without her . It was all her fault . “ At the bank .” She blinked as hope blossomed in her chest . Marybeth turned to look at Brian ’ s mom .
“ Our bank ?” “ We only have the one .”
Now the question is how can I make it a little different than every other makeup scene ? Hmm , how about he confronts her ? Force her out of her comfort zone .
“ Thank you so much .” Marybeth practically ran to her car . It didn ’ t take her long to make it to the bank . She parked across the street and spotted him talking to the bank owner . The suit he wore fit beautifully and accented muscles she never paid attention to before . Questioning herself , she wondered if she should wait until he finished working . Then he spotted her . She sat there dumbly as he sprinted across the street . Time to face him . If she ran now , he would never forgive her .
Next month I should conclude this thread . I hope you ’ re enjoying this as much as I am enjoying writing it . The question I ’ m pondering now is should I write the story itself and submit it as an article ?
