T h i s conclusion is the 3rd in h o p e f u l l y four installments but as I said before it depends on the way the story flows out of me . I know we ’ re close . I also know I ’ ve said that with each installment . Now , let ’ s get to it , shall we ?
Now , Marybeth ’ s financial issues have been repaired . She starts to realize that she pushed Brian away when secretly she was happy he was back . Realizing all he had done for her made her realize he must have feelings for her . Why would he do what he did if he didn ’ t ?
How do I help her repair the damage ? How can I bring them together to get that sigh from the reader at the end ?
Marybeth used the spreadsheet Brian had created to mark the invoices paid and created new ones as she went along . The program he made was easy to use . It had been about a week since he stormed out . She found herself thinking about all he did for her in the short amount of time he had been there .
“ I was rough on Brian , wasn ’ t I ?” she asked Peaches .
“ That ’ s putting it mildly .” Peaches was working some dough . “ I know you have feelings for him , why did you push him away ?”
“ I didn ’ t push him away .” Marybeth continued to stare at the computer screen . Was that what she did ? The real question was did she do it the first time as well ?
“ Oh , my God .” Peaches stopped what she was doing . “ He was trying to help you save this place and you rudely told him to butt out . If you had talked to me that way I would have walked too .”
“ I was rude ?” She could feel the heat of embarrassment fill her cheeks . “ I don ’ t remember what I said .”
“ But you remember the look on his face , don ’ t you .” “ It ’ s burned into my memory .” “ What are you going to do about it ?” “ Go grovel at his feet and ask for forgiveness .” Marybeth stood up . “ Can you keep an eye on everything ?”
“ Of course .” Peaches dusted off her hands and headed into the bakery .
