crore during FY’2011. Majority of demand for agricultural
tillers had arisen from farmers with small land holdings and
individuals engaged in gardening. The rising mechanization
for land preparation across the country coupled with increasing
farm income had resulted in higher demand for agricultural
tillers during the review period. The total sales of mini and
power tillers in the country inclined to ~ units during FY’2016
from ~ units during FY’2011.

to INR ~ crore during FY’2016, registering a CAGR of ~%
during the same period. Majority of farm equipments in this
segment include advance agricultural implements mainly
demanded by large agricultural cooperatives, companies and
farmers with above average land holding size. Majority of
implements including Laser Land Levelers, Planters and Seed
Extractors are high priced precision machinery utilized by a
niche group of end users that require higher productivity of
land and crop output. Within this segment, majority of sales
came from implements utilized for seedbed preparation and
weeding and plant protection.
Competition Scenario
The tiller market in India is dominated by a few large
players that have accounted for ~% of the market in
terms of sales volume during FY’2016. Major companies
