BUILDING TECHNOLOGY AND FACILITIES
Building and installation’ s technology have been attentively combined to reach the goal of the maximum indoor confort with the hightest possible energy saving.
Insulation of the envelope and control of the openings are a basic strategies in this sense, very important to consider but still not enough on their own. A solar greenhouse complements the envelope along the southern elevation, increasing thermal inertia during the winter, while during the summer glazed surfaces can be open and / or shaded, enhancing natural ventilation dynamic. Photovoltaic panels installed on the roof supply an air-water heat pump. During the winter the air heated up in the greenhouse and the exhausted air coming from indoor rooms contribute in the generation of energy. Heating sistem’ s terminals are above floor radiant panels.
The distribution scheme consists in external galleries on the northern elevation, which connects the cells with the central core, reducing the building’ s volume that need to be heated up.
