BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING JANUARY 12 th , 2022 7:00 pm AMERICAN LEGION , CHASKA , MN MINUTES

Secretary ’ s Report : Leslie Mason Motion made by James Duenow , seconded by Steve Tibbetts to approve the December 8 th , 2021 , Board Meeting Minutes . Motion carried unanimously .
Treasurer ’ s Report : Arlene Bayer

Arlene presented the Balance Sheet and Income Statement . YTD Net Income ( Loss ) is $ 57,754.74 , and Last Year Net Income ( Loss ) was ($ 20,768.16 ). Year-end payroll and W2 ’ s and have been finalized . Final State Fair bill is yet to be paid . Matthew has been paid and there is $ 5,500 remaining to be paid . Motion made by Steve Tibbetts , seconded by Amber Duncanson , to accept the Treasurer ’ s Report subject to audit from December 31 , 2021 . Motion carried unanimously .
Correspondence : Received 103 clubs ’ membership renewals , there are 109 clubs renewed to date .
Committee Reports :
Championship Horse Show : Steve Tibbetts Steve presented the Champ Show budget . Motion made by James Duenow , seconded by Keith Sather to approve the Champ Show budget . Motion carried unanimously .
Steve has negotiated some discounts with the State Fair . Received a non-profit discount for facility rentals of ($ 5,100 ) and a ($ 2,000 ) credit for one day of parking . The remaining final bill was $ 41,956.09 , but with the discounts the total is now $ 34,856.09 . Costs are increasing to run Champ Show . At this point we do not want to raise any prices , so we need to look into other options . We currently pay $ 37,000 in payouts , so it could be an option to drop premiums . If we increase our sponsorships that would help . We could also charge for camping , as it is optional to the exhibitors , and WSCA pays a lot to rent those lots .
Steve presented the 2022 Champ Show schedule . Motion made by Amber Duncanson , seconded by James Duenow to approve the 2022 Champ Show schedule . Motion carried unanimously .
Computer : Jake Flodquist Absent . James and Leslie have been in contact regarding the WSCA computer for the Secretary . It is 9 years old and has been having several issues lately . It was recommended that a new computer be purchased for the Secretary position . Motion made by Amber Duncanson , seconded by Steve to approve the purchase of a new computer for the WSCA Secretary , not to exceed $ 800 . Motion carried unanimously .
Drills and Squares : Marlys Mooney Absent . Nothing to report .
