About the Speaker Roopali Kulkarni , DMD , MPH
Dr . Kulkarni is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine , Assistant Director of the postgraduate oral medicine residency program , and treats patients within the University of Pennsylvania Health System . She graduated dental school with both her Doctor of Dental Medicine ( DMD ) and Master of Public Health ( MPH ) degrees from the University of Pennsylvania . She completed her postgraduate residency training in Oral Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania . Dr . Kulkarni currently teaches predoctoral and postdoctoral students clinically and didactically . She was the recipient of the 2022 Penn Dental Medicine Earle Bank Hoyt Award for dedication and excellence in teaching . Her scholarly work focuses on topics within both oral medicine and public health , and she has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals , including JADA . In addition to her faculty and clinical responsibilities , Dr . Kulkarni is actively involved in organized dentistry . She is a national media spokesperson for the American Dental Association , serves on the ADA Advisory Committee on Annual Meetings , past Chair of the Pennsylvania Dental Association New Dentist Committee , on the Board of the Philadelphia County Dental Society , and on multiple councils and committees in the American Dental Education Association and American Academy of Oral Medicine .
