This presentation will cover key financial considerations at all stages of a dentist ’ s career from associateship to practice ownership and retirement . For associates , we will cover items including compensation and related taxation with emphasis on the issue of employee v . independent contractor . From there , we will explore starting v . acquiring a practice and related critical points of due diligence . Then , we will move to practice ownership and tools for monitoring practice performance . Finally , we will address preparing your practice for transition and current trends in the transitions market .

About the Speakers Angelisa Cataldo , CPA
Angelisa Cataldo , CPA , joined Cataldo Financial & Consulting Group after graduation in May of 2011 as valedictorian of her class and with honors from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University – Abington Campus . She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants . At Cataldo Financial and Consulting Group , Angelisa assists clients with financial statement preparation , tax preparation , tax planning , dental practice acquisition due diligence , practice valuation and sales and consulting engagements with a focus in the veterinarian and dental industries . She often provides seminars at universities and conventions on current accounting and financial issues relevant to her clients . Angelisa has no other relevant financial relationships to disclose .
John S . Cataldo , CPA
John S . Cataldo , CPA , joined Cataldo Financial & Consulting Group in December of 2010 after graduation from Widener University . He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and provides various services to clients at Cataldo Financial and Consulting Group , including : financial statement and tax preparation , practice acquisition due diligence , valuation and consulting engagements with specialization in the dental and veterinary industries .
