Maurice Connary
MAURICE CONNARY
ISLAND POND, VT.–Maurice
Platt Connary, 89, of Birch St.
Island Pond, Vt., died peacefully
on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at
Newport Health Care Center in
Newport, Vt. after a short illness.
He was born in Stratford on
Jan. 15, 1927 a son of Howard C.
and Anna K. (Platt) Connary. He
was a graduate of Stratford High
School class of 1945.
Maurice lived most of his life
in Stratford; he lived in Groveton
from 1954-1961 then moved back
to Stratford until moving to
Island Pond twenty-nine years
ago. Before retiring from James
River Corp. he worked for fortytwo years as a Boiler Operator,
and while working in the mill he
was a school bus driver; bark
truck driver and even tried logging.
After retirement he worked
for six years as a security guard
at Burke Lumber in Burke, Vt.
and Willough Vale Inn in Willoughby, Vt. He loved hunting;
fishing tying flies and going to
the camps at Stratford Bog,
Sugar Loaf Mountain, Maidstone
Lake, Percy Road and Nash
Stream. He was a lifetime member of the Silver Brook Camp in
Nash Stream and the National
Riffle Association. He loved to
pick fiddle heads in the spring.
He was a member of the
Groveton Fish and Game and
was a Hunters Safety Instructor.
Maurice is survived by his
wife of 69 years Constance "Connie" Connary of Island Pond; two
children Maurice G. "Mickey"
Connary and Nancy Connary
both of Island Pond; six grandchildren Guy Marier and wife
Robin of Berlin; Sue-Ann Connary of Springfield; Deanna
Marier Gathier and husband
Duane of Smith Station, Ala.;
Bryan Connary and wife Dannielle of Groveton; and Shawn
Connary and wife Lori of Webster, Texas; ten great-grandchildren;
two
great-greatgrandchildren and one brother
John Connary and wife Becky of
Nashua.
He was predeceased by his
parents; one son William "Bill"
Connary in 1972; one grandson
Thomas “Tommy” Connary in
1993; two sisters Constance Connary and Anne Connary White.
Calling hours will be held on
Saturday, March 26, 2016 from
10-11:30 a.m. at the ArmstrongCharron Funeral Home in
Groveton. Funeral service will be
on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at
11:30 a.m. at the funeral home
with Fr. Daniel Deveau of the St.
Francis Xavier Church in
Groveton officiating. Burial will
be on June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in
the Center Stratford Cemetery.

Marie Kenneally
MARIE KENNEALLY
LANCASTER–Marie Margaret Kenneally, 78, of Ice Pond
Village, died Thursday morning
March 3, 2016 at the Coos
County Nursing Home, Berlin.
Kenneally was born in Sanford, Maine, on Dec. 30, 1937 the
daughter of Thomas Walter and
Evon Marie (Cote) Kenneally.
Margaret was raised in Milton, Mass., where she attended
local schools and was a graduate
of Boston University and the
Catherine Gibbs School. She was
the former assistant administrator of the Physics Department at
MIT and later United Brands. In
the Boston area she was a well
known dog obedience trainer.
After retirement she resided for
a time in Woodsville, before moving to Lancaster. She was a talented pianist and will be
remembered for her performances at the Woodsville and
Littleton Senior Centers.
Of strong Catholic faith Margaret was a daily Communicant
and a 42 year member of Opus
Dei. She was a longtime Communicant of St. Josephs Church in
Woodsville and later All Saints
Church in Lancaster. Family
members include her brother
Thomas Kenneally and cousins
Ida Dunning and Eddie Morel.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated April 28 at 11
a.m. at All Saints Church in
Lancaster. Reverend Matthew
Mason, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Calvary
Cemetery, Lancaster. A celebration of her life will follow with a
pot luck gathering at the community room at Ice Pond Village.

Neil Malloy
NEIL MALLOY
COLEBROOK–Neil Jordan
Malloy, age 72, died peacefully
in his home on March 14, 2016,
in Colebrook, after a lengthy
illness.
He is survived by his loving
wife of 43 years, Janice Malloy of
Colebrook; a son Brian Malloy of
Colebrook; a son Neil William
Malloy and his wife Marycia
Malloy of Colchester, Conn.;
three brothers, John Malloy and
his wife Maureen Malloy of Colebrook; Edward Malloy and his
wife Christine Malloy of Windham; Joseph Malloy of Colebrook; one sister, Barbara
Horton and husband Albert of
Bellingham, Mass.; four grandchildren, Lily Malloy and Mark
Backus of Bedford; Jordan Malloy and Neil K. Malloy of
Colchester, Conn. He is also survived by his father, Neil B. Malloy, of Colebrook. He is preceded
in death by his mother, Rita
(McAvoy) Malloy of Watertown,
Mass.
Neil was born on his parents’
wedding anniversary, February
28, 1944, in Waltham, Mass., and
grew up in Watertown, Mass. He
graduated from Watertown High
School and then attended computer school at Northeastern
University in Boston prior to
enlisting in the Army. He completed basic training and special
operator training at Fort Devens,
Mass., in 1965. Neil then served
in combat in Vietnam and in
Europe for four years supervising mobile operations and specializing in international Morse
code. He was proud of playing
soccer and also boxing while
stationed in Europe.
