KCSD SkillsUSA Excel at District Competition
SkillsUSA members from the Keystone Central Career and Technology Center represented our schools by demonstrating their skills against students from 11 competing schools at the SkillsUSA District Competition held at The Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport on January 26th .
Notably , 25 Keystone Central students secured first-place victories or byes , earning them a spot at the upcoming state competition in Hershey , PA , scheduled for April 3-5th . Club advisor Chelsea Grieb expressed her pride in the team , stating , " The members of the Skills USA team represented not only the Career & Technology Center but our entire school community . They worked hard to prepare and compete against other CTC students across District 6 . We are sending 25 students to the state competition in Hershey , where industry professionals and post-secondary institutions will be to potentially provide opportunities to students .”

Reflecting on her experience , senior Sofia Dressler expressed gratitude , saying , “ I am very grateful to represent my school while building a strong CTE community . SkillsUSA has connected me with students as passionate as I am about my career in my own school and from other schools . The persistence and perseverance required to compete has prepared me for my future in a pragmatic and effective manner .”
