Arden Builds a Strong Family Business
Arden Engineering Constructors ( originally Arden Engineering Company , Inc .) was founded in 1954 by Irwin Arden as a mechanical and general contracting company in Providence , Rhode Island . Nearly seventy years later , the Arden namesake has evolved into a multi-faceted group of geographically diverse firms that comprise Arden Building Companies — headquartered in Pawtucket , Rhode Island . Arden employs over 440 office and union craft personnel in Rhode Island , Massachusetts , Connecticut and Maine .
Arden designs , constructs and maintains essential systems for buildings of all types . Their comprehensive skill set includes virtual design and construction , engineering , mechanical , HVAC , fire protection , electrical , service and maintenance , building automation , and traffic lighting and technology . Arden uses state-of-the-art technology with 3D imaging and data analytics . Systems are designed with accuracy and precision , providing clash-free installations . Their multiple in-house pipe fabrication facilities allow modular components to be created in a controlled environment and delivered to project sites for installation . This process reduces on-site work hours , streamlines productivity and increases overall project safety .

1960 1970
Robert H . Bolton ( RH Bolton ) joins Arden working as a union pipefitter and eventually oversees their international projects as a senior project manager . Carmine J . Puniello joins Arden with a strong engineering background in power piping and process systems . Puniello develops a quality assurance program which leads to Arden obtaining ASME certifications . In 1969 , Irwin ’ s son Peter Arden becomes president , and RH Bolton is appointed general manager .
Peter Arden focuses the company on mechanical construction . He also invests in new world technology — the computer — streamlining job costs , accounting , and estimating procedures .
2000 2006
PSEG exits the mechanical construction market , and Bob purchases the company , forming Arden Engineering Constructors , LLC . Bob expands Arden ’ s offerings and market diversification by adding plumbing , pipe fabrication , fire protection and electrical contracting . He also invests in state-of-the-art technology .
In 2006 , Arden Building Companies is formed as a parent company in response to the growth and expanding geography of business acquisitions : MJ Daly , Waterbury , Connecticut , 2006 ; Unique Metal Works , Pawtucket , Rhode Island , 2008 ; and Corporate Mechanical of New England , Tewksbury , Massachusetts , 2014 .
