BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING JANUARY 5 TH , 2023 7:00 PM AMERICAN LEGION , CHASKA , MN MINUTES

Secretary ’ s Report : Leslie Mason Motion made by Julie Gintner , seconded by Amber Duncanson to approve the January 5th , 2023 , Board Meeting Minutes . Motion carried unanimously .
Treasurer ’ s Report : Arlene Bayer

Balance Sheet and Income Statement was presented , YTD Net Income ( Loss ) is ($ 26,129.95 ) and LYTD Net Income ( Loss ) was $ 57,754.74 . The State Fair invoice from 2021 was paid in 2022 and the invoice from 2022 was paid in 2022 as well . Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Lori Taylor , to accept the Treasurer ’ s Report subject to audit from December 31 , 2022 . Motion carried unanimously .
Correspondence : Received 61 club membership renewals for a total of 65 club renewals for 2023 .
Committee Reports :
Championship Horse Show : Steve Tibbetts James handed out the proposed showbill for the 2023 Champ Show . Motion made by Julie Gintner , seconded by Julia Northwick , to approve the Champ Show showbill for 2023 . Motion carried unanimously .
Computer : Jake Flodquist Absent . Nothing to report .
Drills and Squares : Marlys Mooney Absent . Nothing to report .
Futurity : Nothing to report .
Historian : Tim Wampfler Absent . Nothing to report .
Judges : Kim Ziegler Absent . Sara Schwartz reported that the WSCA Judges Seminar will be combined with the MN 4H Judges Seminar on March 24 th and 25 th at Leatherdale Equine Center . The Committee would like to recommend that the fee for the WSCA Judges to attend be $ 50 . If we have a minimum of 20 WSCA Judges attend , this fee will cover our portion of the seminar expenses . Motion made by Ann Goebel , seconded by Julie Gintner , to approve the Judges fee of $ 50 for the clinic . Motion carried unanimously .
Will be holding the Judge applicant rulebook testing on Friday evening , March 24 th . If they pass the written test , they will then participate in the live judging followed by interviews on March 25 th . Once the schedule for the seminar is finalized , a copy will be sent to all of the judges and applicants , along with the Board members . If any Board members would like to attend the clinic , please let Kim or Sara know so we can get an accurate head count .
Jerry Magin and Pam Whitfield have been asked to assist with updating the Judge applicant test . Both have agreed to help . The Judges Committee would ask the Board to appoint the two Board members and Jerry Magin and Pam Whitfield , as the two Judges to review the revised test as well as to work with the Judges Committee on the revisions . Lynn appointed Lori Taylor and Rachel Duenow to review the Judge Applicant test . Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Amber Duncanson , to approve the appointments to the Judges Committee . Motion carried unanimously .
