Ike “ Pop ” Hull set up a portable sawmill to salvage timber blown down by the Hurricane of 1938 . Son Bill Hull grew up sawing whiskey barrel staves in the backyard of the family ’ s Scituate home . Over the years HFP has grown to become the largest sawmill in southern New England .

Our forest-to-floor process . We steward forests , harvest timber , saw and dry lumber , and craft sustainable bio-based products . In 2019 we received the Aldo Leopold Conservation Award for our role in sustaining the working forests of New England .
