THE PINKS
Q. What is your earliest memory playing Hockey?
A. My earliest memory would be when I was 7 years old and won the under 9s league. As a prize, I was given a brand new hockey stick with the Gibraltar logo on it. I also remember my first coach, Orlando, who made all training sessions super fun and started my love for hockey.
Q. What position do you play and what skills set do you need for that position?
A. My position is centre mid. In the 1st Division team, Bavaria play with two central midfielders. In this key position, essential skills required are speed, quick decision-making, intelligence and of course, individual hockey skills.
Q. What would you say is your biggest achievement in Hockey so far in your young career?
A. So far, I've been really lucky with the opportunities I've been given. I wouldn't say I have one biggest achievement, rather a series of successes. These include being selected for the GHA U18s squad at the young age of 13, playing in two U16s Hockey5s tournaments, the second of which as vice captain, winning junior best player of year two seasons ago, and, more recently, participating in the Copa Del Rey with the Malaga U18 squad.
Q. What are your future aspirations in the sport?
A. In terms of club, the first team is aiming to win the league this year and therefore participate in the Euros in May 2021. As far as country is concerned, I am hoping to be selected for the U21s squad, and, in the near future, the National Ladies' side. With hard work and commitment, I hope to captain one, if not more, of these teams.
