The youngest of competitors will be crawling and toddling as they navigate their way to the finish line in the Diaper Derby. The event is 6:30 p. m. July 18 at the Maple Grove Town Green.
The competitions continue Saturday morning, July 19, in the 28th annual Jim Deane Memorial Rice Lake Classic Run around Rice Lake.( Limited to the first 350 preregistered applicants). That same morning, youngsters can get in on the action by signing up for the Kids Fun Run. Run / walk around the 0.8- mile distance at the Central Park lake.
Assemble a team of two( 18 years or older) for the annual Cornhole Tournament held Saturday at 11 a. m. at Central Park with over $ 1,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. Register online.
The Nerf Blaster Battle is Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p. m. at Central Park. The event uses toy Nerf blasters with foam darts along with paintball bunkers( inflatables) for a series of games that promote outreach, inclusion, team building and health and wellness. Free. Bring a nonperishable food donation for CROSS Services. Project My Neighborhood is a local nonprofit that hosts all ages Nerf events and supplies rental equipment for private events throughout the
Twin Cities.
Come and watch the racing beds as they travel down Main Street in the annual Maple Grove Rotary Club’ s Bed Races on Saturday from 5 to 9 p. m. along Main Street. All funds benefit Peaceful Dreams for CROSS Kids, helping local families in need.
