Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) is a 100% grower-owned global hop supplier with a mission
to connect family hop farms to the world’s finest brewers. Since 1869, YCH has been the
global hop supplier of choice, focused on sustainably produced, innovative hop products.
They have 300 full-time employees who process nearly 40 million pounds of hops annually.

allows reuse of a greenhouse gas
in their extraction process that
would otherwise be released into
the atmosphere.
Miguel Silva, a shift supervisor at YCH, measures and tests
hop pellets at their Sunnyside East pellet plant. Silva, who has
worked at the grower-owned company since the summer of
2015, said he likes working with hops. “I like the scent and all
the different varieties,” he said.
