SAVING AND LOADING RANDOM GAMES
Every so often you might create a random game that you'd
like to save for a particular reason: maybe the challenge was
especially fun to play, or you found it instructive, or perhaps
you didn't win and you'd like to play a “grudge match” against
the same position later. Buttons at the bottom of the control
panel let you save and load random positions that you
generate.
The right hand button, which looks like a computer disk, lets
you save the current position. When you click it, a dialogue
appears which lets you name the saved position so that you
can easily identify it later:
• When naming a saved random game (also known as a “preset”), you
might like to use simple abbreviations for both players' material (as
you can see in the illustration above), but you can name your saved
positions anything you want, so long as you can easily pick them out
later. Click “OK” after you've named the position to save it.
