GOING ON A QUEST
Like a knight in a medieval epic, your goal on your chess
quest is to slay the dragon – or, rather, to checkmate the
Black King. As we mentioned earlier, quest games aren't
puzzles or tactics exercises; they're played like actual chess
games, meaning that they don't end until the game is drawn,
one player is checkmated, or you resign (Houdini won't quit,
no matter how hopeless the position).
After you've decided on a
quest, click the pulsating
green “Go” button below the
board to begin.
When you click the “Go” button, you'll notice that the control
panel displays new options for you to use on your quest:
